Auntie’s joke: Esprit

• The uncle mistook “Esprit” to mean everything “is free”.

Lola’s joke: Contemplate

• Not understanding the word “contemplate” and thinking of “konti” meaning “few”.  Lola says there was plenty of food but few plates.

Dad’s joke: Paul x4

• “Paul, be carepull! You might pall in the poll!” = “Paul, be careful! You might fall in the pool!”

Mom’s joke: Staten Island

• A pinoy on a boat points to an island and says “Is dat an island?” - sounds like “Staten Island?”
